Can you fall in love in a coffee shop?
An aroma like no other fills the air around you as you sit staring at the book in front of you. You have succumb into your imaginary world as you glide through pages of words. Thirsty, you look up. A man is sitting across the isle from you. He looked quickly away to avoid you catching him staring, but you did. Your cheeks blush and you subconsciously put the imaginary piece of hair behind your ear while you attempt to hid your smile. You return to your book, but this time you are well aware of the attractive guy sitting inches away. Your mind wanders. You can feel his eyes upon you. You wait a moment and then look up. You catch him by surprise and you meet his gold speckled eyes. He smiles, a crooked smile, and nods in your direction. You reach for your tea and take a sip, being coy. In your peripheral you can see he returned to his computer, typing some unknown words to an unknown person. You sneak glances of him, while you fake read your book. His dark hair moves slightly as the air blows from the fan above. His shoulders are strong, built with muscle under his shirt. He does not hunch over, instead he sits with an air of confidence, like he knows of his attractiveness and is comfortable in his skin. You automatically begin scrutinizing the outfit you wore, what your hair looks like, the fact that you have your glasses on. You begin to wonder what he is thinking, if he anything, about you. You hear his fingers stop typing and he reaches for his coffee, you look up and meet each other’s eyes, both smile.
Time passes by and he stands up, collects his belongings, sends one more glance in your direction with a smile attached and walks away out of your world. Your heart sinks, you return to your book and escape back into your imagination.
